A ‘one in ten’ wet winter, Barossa yields were up!
Following an idea, we picked even later, the same day as our sixty-three year old block, March 28th. Natural open ferment, complexity added with five dissimilar, reworked hogs heads. When brought together, the corners of France intertwined with our Cottage Block; confected blackberry, easy tannins and that Barossa earthiness – magic.
As a side note...We put five winemakers in the barrel store to taste a flight of the wines we have produced, they said the 2023 Cottage Block was; herbaceous, had great colour, strawberry notes, the sophisticated one...
